Be Bear Aware!

MISSION STATEMENT: It is the mission of the LPBA to promote living with bears peacefully in our mountain communities. We shall do this primarily through education, the introduction of bear resistant trash recepticles and participating in the elimination of non-natural food attractants such as human garbage.

Today is Fri, 29 August 2008 where our server is, in Kobenhavn, Danmark (Copenhagen, Denmark).

Quick Tips:

The best advice we can quickly give you, to help we humans co-exist with Bears in the community:

  • Don't feed the bears, directly, or indirectly. This means don't put out food, for bears or any animals, as Bears will smell the food and go after it.
  • Don't leave trash outside of your home, or in your garage if the garage has an opening. Bears go after anything with a scent - food, toothpaste, lotion, shampoo.
  • Bears aren't the only wild animals that are affected negatively by human feeding. Please see Native Habitats for more information.
